German stamp (Deutsches Reich) of 1939 celebrating the Berlin Motor Show where the Wolkswagen car was presented, “People's Car”” wanted (and designed, it is said) by Hitler. The popular and economical car sponsored by the Fuhrer could not be produced until after the war and remained the only model manufactured by the company for a long time. From 1951 it was marketed in all countries and in 1972 became the most sold car in the world. His particular form earned him many affectionate nicknames: the Germans called him “kafer” (coleoptere). The French made it the “Ladybug”.
