Beloved Impressionist, influential master or self-indulgent fantasist? You decide.

EXHIBITION ON SCREEN and Seventh Art Productions present a fascinating film about Pierre-Auguste Renoir, one of the world's most divisive artists. Although he was known and loved for his impressionist paintings of Paris, Renoir grew weary of this style and changed course.

This beautiful film, based on the incredible collection of 181 Renoir works at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, explores the direction he then took and why it continues to cause such extreme reactions.

Some people feel repulsed by Renoir's later works, while others actually feel seduced. Many might be surprised to learn that two leaders of 20th century art - Picasso and Matisse, were highly influenced by these new Renoirs.

Renoir: Revered and Reviled is a fresh biography on the French Impressionist painter, revealing a story rarely ever told before.
