Max Abramovitz
American artist, 1908-2004
Abramovitz studied at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (1929), Columbia University, NY (1931), and the École des Beaux-Arts, Paris (1932-1934). He began working with Wallace K. Harrison in 1934. After a series of partnerships involoving other architects, they formed Harrison and Abramovitz in 1945. Some of the architects' early work together included the Rockefeller Apartments in New York, 1936, and the Trylon and Perisphere for the World's Fair of 1939.
