The museum, which bought a bronze tiger head for US$1.98 million from auction house Sotheby's and monkey and ox heads for US$2.05 million from Christie's in 2000, said they had just bought the pig head from a collector in the United States. A Hong Kong auction house on Wednesday cancelled the selling of a bronze dog head for an auction scheduled for October 26. The museum said the dog head did not belong to a part of a series of bronze sculptures featuring the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac that used to be in the Summer Palace in Beijing in the Qing Dynasty.
