The U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong said in a statement it was aware of media reports of an alleged terrorist threat to American interest in Hong Kong and Macau but said these reports were without foundation. Macau police had arrested seven men after the discovery of documents apparently pointing to plans to attack U.S. targets there and in Hong Kong, but said late on Monday they were not on a U.S. list of people wanted in connection with the recent attacks in America.
