A three-quarter-length portrait of a young man, standing, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, light brown shoulder-length curly hair, dressed in a black slashed doublet with large white lace shoulder collar, leaning with his right elbow on a plinth, his left hand at his hip. Created baronet in 1642. Son of Sir William Borlase, Kt, and Amy Popham and husband of Alice Bankes, daughter of Sir John Bankes. The original is at Kingston Lacy.
