Elegant ken games for foxes, 1842 (woodblock print on paper)

One of two prints of a triptych (also 242). Opus largely Bijin-ye (pictures of beauties). This print and 243 from same series. Each a single kneeling lady looking in the direction of observer. Interior exactly as 242. Two shadow figures on shoji, one male brandishing fan, other a female with elaborately pinned coiffeur. Lady squatting with two forearms held vertically with hands bent down at wrists. Outer kimono predominantly yellow with black and pink under kimonos. Obi with black and white lenticular design and flying storks with green wings. Sake kettle to bottom left and green and pink trays with lacquered box and ceramic bowls. Title cartouche, top left, colour as 242. Kiwame seal. Eizan, Kikugawa
