top: A SWISS ENAMELLED AND JEWELLED GOLD SNUFF-BOX Geneva, circa 1780, with prestige marks, the flange struck with inventory no. 835 Oval box, the guilloché panels on cover, sides and base coated with translucent plum-colour enamel and bordered with opaque white enamel bands, the diamond-bordered lid centred with an identically enamelled guilloché plaque applied with rose-cut diamond-studded initials 'SF', within an old-mine cut diamond and strass border, the matted gold borders and side pilasters applied with opalescent enamel beads and translucent green enamelled leaves; with fitted green shagreen case 3 3/8 in. (86 mm.) wide Centre left: A SWISS ENAMELLED SILVER-GILT SINGING-BIRD BOX by Jacques Bruguier (1801-1871), the movement scratched in 'Bruguier Jacques Genève' and numbered '41', Geneva, circa 1840/1860 Rectangular box with waisted lobed corners, the cover applied with flowers cast in silver-gilt on a dark blue enamelled taille d'épargne foliate ground surrounded by scrolls, a slide on the front side opening the hinged oval flap enamelled with a mountainous landscape view, the colourfully plumed bird formerly rotating on its axis, flapping its wings, turning its head and opening its beak, the sides engraved with feathery scrolls, flowers and foliage, the base similarly engraved and enclosing a blank floral reserve, with rear key compartment; the leather case with key compartment, the white plush and silk lined inside gold-stamped 'L.
