Niccolò Pisano (also known as Niccolò di Bartolomeo dell'Abrugia) was an Italian sculptor and architect who lived during the 13th and 14th centuries. He was born in Apulia, Italy, and trained in the workshop of his father, Bartolomeo Pisano, who was also a sculptor. Niccolò Pisano is best known for his work on the pulpit of the Pisa Cathedral, which he created between 1255 and 1260. The pulpit is considered a masterpiece of Gothic sculpture and is decorated with scenes from the life of Christ and the apostles. Niccolò Pisano is best known for his work on the pulpit of the Pisa Cathedral, which he created between 1255 and 1260. The pulpit is considered a masterpiece of Gothic sculpture and is decorated with scenes from the life of Christ and the apostles. In addition to his work as a sculptor, Niccolò Pisano was also an accomplished architect. He designed several buildings in Pisa, including the Church of San Giovanni di Fucecchio and the Palazzo della Carovana. Niccolò Pisano's work had a significant influence on the development of Italian Gothic art and architecture. He died in Pisa in 1278.
