Image description: the sect of (Christian) pigs blinding the Chinese. Two foreigners gouge out the eyes of a Chinese man lying on a bed. In the foreground, two Chinese, blinded by the same operation, crawl at the feet of the foreigners who have become their masters. Allusion to a legend according to which missionaries use Chinese eyes to transmute lead into silver. The removed eyes are replaced by plaster cast in the eye sockets. This is called sealing a Celestial for travel to the West.
