Published by Elizabeth d'Achery (1742-). This is an allusion to the battle of Ushant, 27 July 1778. Pictured left to right are: Britannia's foreign enemies (America, France, Spain and Holland) running off with the spoils; a headless statue of Britannia seated on a globe holding a broken spear; Charles Fox (1749-1806) biting her leg; John Wilkes (1725–97); John Dunning (1731–83); Charles Lennox (1735–1806); Edmund Burke [?] (1729-97); Admiral Augustus Keppel (1725–86); and the judges Edward Thurlow (1731-1806) and William Murray (1705-1793), on the extreme right pull at ropes to keep her in position.
