U.S. PEACEKEEPERS IN KOSOVO CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING, 2001-11-22 (photo)

U.S. peacekeepers at camp Bondsteel in southern Kosovo line up to pick a rich selection of dishes, including roast turkey with giblet gravy, during the celebration of Thanksgivings day November 22. In a Thanksgiving message to the troops, the U.S. Army commanding general Montgomery C. Meigs told soldiers that this year more than any other, Americans were reminded that the freedoms earned by their forefathers were challenged by others around the world, a reference to the suicide attacks on September 11 in New York and Washington.
