Red headline on the on gray background of a map of the city of Berlin, drawn from the urban plan of last September; the map has been prepared by Josef Paul Kleihues with Mirko Baum, Ludger Brands and Walter Stepp, as part of the urban redevelopment projects looking forward to the celebrations for the 750th anniversary of the city in 1987; the detail of the map reproduced on the cover, with the north moved to the left, shows the central area (Zentraler Bereich), with the section of the river Spree, intertwined with the railroad; the districts on the upper part (eastern) are rendered in gray, while the area below (further to the west) is coloured, and subsequently characterized by a significant amount of green areas, concentrated around the Bundeskanzleramt.
