A three-quarter length portrait of Lady Hoare, second wife of Sir Richard Hoare, 1st Bt. She is seated to the right, looking outwards, wearing a red dress and a green cloak over her left arm. Her right hand is resting on a book placed on the plinth of a marble head of Clio (the muse of History). Stourhead, Wiltshire (Accredited Museum)
