Brave Girls (Colour Litho)

Brave girls. An American four-engine bound for Australia and forced to land in the middle of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Oregon. The crew organizes the rescue of passengers who take their seats on large pneumatic rafts. The storm is raging, four shipwrecked people are overwhelmed by the waves. The situation is dramatic. Two schoolgirls, Gail Dillingham and Mary Harrison, start singing and thus cheer up their demoralized companions in misfortune. Three hours pass before a ship, Bayfield, spots the survivors and rescues them. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 10 April 1955.
