He couldn't resist the temptation. The farmer Amilcare Ranucci returns to the town followed by the cow he bought at the Acqui market. Along the way he stops for a moment; he ties the beast to a pole, hangs his coat from it in a pocket of which, wrapped in a newspaper, he has placed a bundle of banknotes. Then he moves away. The cow, rummaging through the folds of the coat with its snout, finds the envelope and begins to eat it. Back on the spot, the master throws himself on the beast to snatch the swag from it.
