Image description

The sea saved him. On the Andrea Gritti motorboat leaving Genoa and heading for Guaira (Venezuela) two Italian emigrants come to a fight for political reasons. When it seems that the dispute is over, one of the two arms himself with a heavy hammer and, while the other is leaning against the battle intent on watching the stormy sea, a terrible blow to the head vibrates. But a wave stronger than the others suddenly accentuates the roll of the ship and the aggressor loses his balance. He misses the target and the hammering that would surely have been deadly falls, instead of on the head, on a shoulder of the victim. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 3 October 1954.
