BOLIVIANS SELL POSTERS OF CHE GUEVARA, 1997-07-08 (photo)

Bolivian Juan Maita (R) sells posters of Argentine-Cuban guerrilla leader Che Guevara in the door of the Japanese Hospital morgue, where the alleged skeleton without hands of Guevara (Guevara's hands were cut off shortly before his disappearance) is in the process of being officially identified, July 8 three days after seven skeletons were exhumed from a common grave in the village of Vallegrande where the rebel leader and his followers fought the Bolivian Army in 1967. Nearly 30 years after being exhibited to the public as a war trophy by the Army, the alleged remains of Guevara and his comrades were finally placed in a morgue to be properly identified before being repatriated.
