CHRISTOPH MEILI TOURS YAD VASHEM IN JERUSALEM, 1997-09-16 (photo)

Christoph Meili, 29, a former Swiss bank security guard, wears a "yamulka", or Jewish skullcap, as he passes a photo mural of a Nazi soldier executing a Jewish woman during Word War II, during a tour of the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, September 16. Christoph blew the whistle on Switzerland's biggest bank, The Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS), when he smuggled out documents to Jewish leaders in Zurich that were bound for the bank's shredder. Meili, a Christian, lost his job at the bank and was forced to leave Switzerland where he received death threats and was accused of spying for Israel. He eventually settled in the United States.
