DRINKING WATER A typical public fountain widespread in the capital of Piedmont, called “Toret”; literally, in the Piedmontese language “toretto”, a small bull (which is the emblem animal of the city), as the water in the flows from the mouth of the small head of a bovine that protrudes from the upper part. Appeared for the first time on 17 July 1862 in the neo-capital of the young Italian unitary state, made of cast iron and painted in the characteristic bottle green, fountains are much loved by from Turin, who reacted with strong opposition to the administration's hypothesis of replacing them with new stone models. Represented in souvenirs for tourists, together with the Mole Antonelliana and the gianduiotto, an App has also been dedicated to them to identify the nearest “toret”. Turin, 2018
