FBIS RON DICK COMMENTS ON RECENT INTERNET HACKINGS, 2000-02-09 (photo)

Ron Dick, Chief of computer investigations and operations for the FBI's National Infrastructure Protection Center, comments on the recent computer hacking problems at some of the high profile e-businesses, at FBI headquarters in Washington February 9. The nation's top law enforcement officials said Wednesday that they had begun a probe into a series of brazen attacks on major Web sites that continued for a third consecutive day. The sites were bombarded with so many messages during the incidents that all other visitors to the sites were denied access, although in some cases, the breakdowns were only partial and most sites managed to recover within a matter of hours.
