Image description

Like this 24.7 pickup, all three of Ford's 24.7 concept vehicles, unveiled January 9, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit's Cobo Center, feature advanced communications and telematics technologies that give their passengers access to information, people and places 24 hours a day, seven days a week - hence the name. The voice-activated, reconfigurable projected-image display, shown here as projected on the dashboard, allows the driver to customize the instrument panel by changing the speedometer, fuel gauge and clock with voice commands. The instrument panel can also display information from the Internet, route assistance, weather reports and customized stock tracking. The two other versions of the 24.7 are a coupe and a station wagon which also feature the same technology. TCB/JP
