Munich, Bavaria, Germany
The Haus der Kunst (House of Art) on the Prinzregentenstrasse, programmatic cultic building from the era of the National Socialism. Today it hosts international exhibitions, and also houses the 'State Gallery of Modern Art'. Paul L. Troost designed the building in 1932 as a replacement for the burnt down Glaspalast (Glass Palace). The foundation stone was laid down on 15 October 1933, on the 'Day of German Art'. It should come along with this the renewal of the German art life and the placement of Munich to the 'Capital of the German Art'.
