Image description

HMONG HILLTRIBESMEN REGISTER AFTER BEING REQUESTED TO RETURN TO THEIR HOME VILLAGES IN NORTHERN THAILAND. Hundreds of members of the Hmong hilltribe community queue to register their names at the Tham Prabok monastery in Saraburi, 120 kilometres north of Bangkok August 20. The 20,000-strong hilltribe community living in Saraburi was ordered to return to their home villages after reports that some of them were linked to drug trafficking and weapons smuggling in Saraburi. Members of the Hmong community came to the temple initially for drug treatment and their numbers over the years.
