KENYANS GIVE THEIR OPINIONS ON US RAIDS, 1998-08-24 (photo)

A Kenyan girl walks past a Nairobi billboard August 24, just a few metres from the scene of the fatal bomb blast which exploded near the U.S. embassy on August 7. The girl was making her way to log her views of the U.S. missle attacks in Afghanistan and Sudan, in a book set up in the Kenyan capital. Kenyans have come out sharply divided, with many supporting the U.S. for its missle attacks on a Sudanese pharmaceutical plant. Fresh in the minds for most Kenyans was the devastating twin bombs blasts in Nairobi and Dar-es-Salaam U.S. embassies which killed 253 and 10 people respectively. GM/JDP
