Nationalists launch an attack on Royal Ulster Constabulary police behind a hijacked burnt-out car during riots on the Crumlin road, North Belfast, July 12, 2001. A number of police officers were injured during a late evening series of riots close to the Crumlin road moments before an Orange order parade passed the nationalist Catholic area, on the "The Twelfth of July", the climax of the Protestant "marching season" in, Northern Ireland. Pro-British Protestants held parades all over Northern Ireland to commemorate the victory of William of Orange over Roman Catholic King James at The Battle of the Boyne in 1690. PM/CLH/
