Bethesda Fountain, Central Park, New York City. The sculpture is call Angel of Waters and was designed by Emma Stebbins in 1873. Cental Park. Bethesda Fountain and Terrace. On the south side of the pond is this square that culminates in a huge circular fountain with a statue called Angel of the Waters instituted here in 1842. From the top of the stairs you have good views of the source to the lake bottom. - September 2013
