Video description

Civilians and Civil Defence volunteers are gathered on a London street as a victim on a stretcher is carried from the rubble of a wrecked home after a night-time V-1 missile bombing raid. From January to May 1944 around 500 German aircraft took part in ‘Operation Steinbock’ (Capricorn) targeting the south east of England, which Londoners came to call the ‘Little Blitz’, or ‘Baby Blitz’.
