The room monitors people flow, security, traffic and public information services using more than 300 security cameras situated throughout the Homebush Bay area, claimed to be the largest peace-time operation ever undertaken in the world. The entire area will be locked down by the police and Australian Defence Force on Friday, two weeks before the start of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games on September 15.
