Video description

CU, TILT up. Dusk. The arch of Titus commemorates the victory of Vespasian and Titus over the Jews in 71 AD and the subsequent conquest of Jerusalem. It consists of a single arched opening, located on the Via Sacra to the southeast of the Forum. It was constructed ca. 81 AD, shortly after the death of the Emperor Titus. The capitals are the earliest example of the Composite order. The Relief of the Triumph of Titus adorned the vault and depicts a triumphal procession.
