Half length portrait of a young man, turned to the left gazing at the spectator with long brown hair, wearing a hat a red coat and a lace cravat. Hawker may have been the chief assistant to Lely at the time of his death in 1680, and was his close but pedestrian disciple. (House guide, last revised 1996).
