Oct. 10, 1953 - Rehearsal for the Coronation Procession... A rehearsal for the Coronation procession was held this morning. About 300 troops were used to represent the units taking part. They left Buckingham Palace at 5 a.m., arriving at Westminster Abbey a little more than half an hour later. The troops wore battledress and no bands were used. The State Coach and a few troops - to represent the immediate entourage - covered the rest of the route. The object of the rehearsal was to practise the marshalling of the procession... Keystone Photo Shows: The State Coach drawn by eight Windsor Greys passes down the Hall during the rehearsal this morning.
