TO ACCOMPANY BC-POPE-HOLYLAND-SITES - The large stone and wooden Tomb of Christ partially seen under the recently-renovated rotunda ceiling inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre which aloows daylight to enter one of the world's oldest churches. Pope John Paul II is due to visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, will hold mass here, and will pray alone inside the tomb during his March 21-26 historic visit to the Holy Land, but much of what he sees on his tour of the holy sites will be shrines whose links to Jesus are a matter of tradition rather than physical evidence.
