Voyager space probe - Voyager spacecraft in interstellar space: The Voyager 1 and 2 probes were launched on 5 September 1977 and 20 August 1977 respectively to study the giant planets of the solar system. In 25 August 2012, the probe officially the first human-made object to be released from our Solar System. Voyager 1, more than 18 billion kilometres from the Sun, leaves the zone of direct influence of the Sun, the heliosphere .
