Image description

Finnmark 19741015. On the 30th anniversary of the liberation of the 2-3,000 people who were locked in the mines in Kirkenes on October 25, 1944, there will be a Norwegian-Russian film "under a stone sky" in several places in the country. The film depicts the historical events during World War II, when the occupying power bested that the population of our northernmost region should be evacuated. A number of Norwegians remained in the mountains, and some also moved into the mines on Bjørnevatn. An entire society was built up in there. As part of the destruction work, it was decided that the mines should be blown up, and there was a great danger that many lives would be lost. Fortunately, Russian troops were landed, and a department came to the rescue and averted the disaster at the last minute. It is this race that this film depicts. The recordings are largely made on authentic, historical grounds, and a number of Norwegian actors are involved. The film is part of the cultural agreement between Norway and the Soviet Union, following a manuscript by Sigbjørn Holmebakk and the Russian author Nagibin. The picture shows a scene from the movie.
