Two women yell slogans while holding signs reading:"Trial for Montesinos," and "A country with culture does not cover corruption. Trial for Montesinos" outside the National Intelligence Service (SIN) in Lima, September 18, 2000. A scandal erupted last week when a video surfaced showing Vladimiro Montesinos, [President Alberto Fujimori\'s] spy master and right-hand aide for the last ten years, allegedly bribing an opposition congressman to switch sides.[ The ensuing scandal prompted Fujimori, who was elected in a tainted ballot in May, to say that he would disband the SIN, call out for new elections and to assure that he did not plan to run again. Fujimori did not give a timetable for the new poll. ]
