Clarke is leaving her post after two years as assistant secretary of defense for public affairs, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced on Monday. Clarke, a former public relations executive and spokeswoman in the 1992 re-election campaign of former President George Bush, said she was leaving to spend more time with her family.
