Image description

This coverlet was made by the Church Women’s Missionary Association of St Ninian's Episopcal church in Perth. During WW2 fabrics were scarce and the group’s usual overseas missionary activity couldn’t continue. However, patchwork was suggested as a way of keeping the group going, and the hexagons were made out of scraps of material the women in the association had at home.
