Prince Philippe d'Orléans, Comte de Paris (1838-1894); his grandfather was Louis-Philippe I (1773-1850) King of the French from 1830 until the 1848 Revolution when he sought refuge in Great Britain. His grandson, the Comte de Paris, was a claimant to the French throne from 1848 until his death in 1894; the French Royal Chapel, Carton Street, St. Marylebone, London was constructed in 1799 and became a focal point for French refugees and exiles; altarpiece of the Annunciation painted by Maria Cosway (1759-1838); chapel closed in 1911 and demolished late 1960's;
