Inquisition. Die Inquisition, jenes furchtbarste geistliche Strafgericht zur Ketzerverfolgung, schwand seit der Reformation langsam aus Deutschland. Feuertod war die harteste Strafe. Der Verurteilte, angetan mit Ketzermutze und hemd, wird von der Geistlichkeit zur Kirche gefuhrt, dort von der Inquisition dem weltlichen Gericht ubergeben; auf dem Richtplatz wird das Urteil vollstreckt.
