Schulstube. Die Schulstube der Reformationszeit ist aus der kahlen Klosterzelle hervorgegangen. Die auf niedrigen Banken sitzenden Schuler oder Scholaren scharen sich um den Lehrer, der Magister oder auch Scholar heisst. Die Zuchtrute, der Bakel, galt als ein unentbehrliches Erziehungsmittel. Damals war die hohere Schule die Lateinschule, deren Uberrest heute das humanistische Gymnasium ist. Translation: Schoolroom.
