Image description: At the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Swiss Air Force at Duebendorf military airport on June 27, 1964, a Hawker Hunter Mk.58 fighter aircraft of the Swiss Army Surveillance Squadron pulled over the spectators. The enthusiastic audience spontaneously named the squadron Patrouille Suisse after the French Patrouille de France. The Swiss Military Department (EMD) was convinced of the public appeal of the formation flight and therefore decided to appoint the Patrouille Suisse as the official national aerobatics team. Patrouille Suisse was founded two months later on 22 August 1964
