The following days and weeks thousands of nuclear power opponents from Switzerland, the Federal Republic of Germany and France visited the area. The flag of the Action Group was rolled up on 12 June 1975, after a large part of the occupiers had decided to vacate the site voluntarily. The necessity and safety of nuclear energy was questioned for the first time by a broad public. After years of protest and a long occupation history, the Upper House (Bundesrat) finally decided not to build the nuclear power plant, which is superfluous in the energy industry.
