Sydney Tower is seen June 14, 2003 next to an art piece titled 'Almost Once' by famous Australian artist Brett Whiteley, but also known simply as 'the matchsticks'. A group of art vigilantes, calling themselves the Revolutionary Council for the Removal of Bad Art in Public Places', are threatening to get rid of such pieces located around the city and suburbs, if they are not removed within three months. A council spokesman has been quoted in a national newspaper as saying 'we have blowtorches, angle grinders and bolt cutters, and we will use them if necessary'.
