BRUISER THE LION LEAPS UP A TREE TO CATCH A TOY DURING ENVIRONMENTAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME AT SYDNEY'S TARONGA ZOO. Bruiser, a two-year-old lion, leaps into a tree in his enclosure to grab a toy supplied by keepers November 6, 2001. Sydney's famous harbour side zoo is hosting the fifth bi-annual international conference on Environmental Enrichment in a bid to keep captive animals occupied, stimulated and entertained in zoos. Delegates from the U.S.A., South Africa, Japan, Mexico, Sweden and Britain will hear how modern zoos go about creating environments that encourage the full range of behaviours animals would display naturally in the wild.
